GPS Security Certification SME

Location: El Segundo, CA

Seeking an experienced GPS Security Certification SME with a strong background in DoD acquisition processes and compliance standards.

🔹Clearance: Active Secret required (TS/SCI preferred)

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and enforce GPS User Equipment Security Certification processes and procedures to ensure compliance with DoD and government requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise on M-Code GPS security certification and Information Assurance (IA) standards.
  • Review and evaluate acquisition documents to ensure compliance with government regulations, policies, and processes.
  • Serve as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for GPS security certification, hardware/software analysis, and system integration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to support the successful integration of GPS systems.
  • Ensure compliance with Cyber Threat analysis, COMSEC, TRANSEC, and Zero Trust principles, identifying and mitigating risks related to GPS security certification.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing technical guidance on GPS security certification, risk management, and compliance requirements.
  • Review and analyze acquisition documentation and participate in discussions with government acquisition offices and technical teams.
  • Conduct hardware and software security analysis to assess GPS equipment compliance.
  • Implement security certification processes and work closely with stakeholders to resolve compliance challenges.
  • Monitor cybersecurity risks and ensure adherence to DoD security regulations.
  • Stay up to date on evolving DoD certification and acquisition requirements.

Preferred Experience & Attributes

  • 8+ years of experience in DoD Information Assurance and systems engineering, with expertise in software system development, test case creation, and execution.
  • Strong knowledge of DoD acquisition processes, GPS security certification, and navigation technologies.
  • Expertise in Cyber Threat analysis, COMSEC, TRANSEC, Zero Trust principles, and risk management.
  • Experience working with embedded systems and new technology programs related to GPS User Equipment.
  • Proficiency in hardware and software analysis, as well as Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to effectively interface with government acquisition offices, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Active Secret clearance required (TS/SCI preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Computer Science, Information Assurance); Master’s degree is highly desirable.
