Seeking a Security Consultant with expertise in Palo Alto and Illumio.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens, able to pass background checks, and work as W2 employees.

No C2C or C2H arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and implement microsegmentation strategies using Palo Alto and Illumio
• Develop and manage access policies based on secure, validated data flows
• Analyze and interpret firewall logs to create or refine access control rules
• Map and document application-to-application and user-to-application traffic flows
• Define, write, and maintain segmentation policies to enforce least privilege principles
• Provide subject matter expertise on networking protocols, port behavior, and communication control
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align security requirements with technical implementation

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Monitor and parse network traffic and firewall logs for actionable insights
• Create, modify, and troubleshoot Palo Alto and Illumio segmentation rules
• Perform IP address management and subnetting tasks
• Use Excel to analyze traffic data (vLookup, Pivot Tables, Filters, etc.)
• Work with infrastructure and application teams to define segmentation needs
• Troubleshoot and resolve access issues related to policy enforcement
• Support scripting and automation efforts using Python, PowerShell, or Ansible

Preferred Experience and Attributes

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
• 15+ years of overall IT experience, including 5+ years as a security consultant focused on Palo Alto
• Deep hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls and Illumio (5+ years preferred)
• 10+ years across security, networking, or infrastructure roles
• Strong understanding of secure data flows and application-level communication
